What’s the perfect email for me to send?
That’s what many businesses ask when they start out doing email marketing. The answer is this: there is no perfect email.
In 2012, Barack Obama raised $690 million online – most of it came from email marketing. The Obama campaign is an amazing example of email marketing done well. One email alone raised $2.5 million.
But the people who were running that campaign realised, that soon after they had sent an wildly successful email and repeated it, “eventually the novelty wore off, and we had to go back and retest”.
This is true for your business. Testing, trialing, repeating and sending is the only way of finding out what works for your customers in the long term.
